When I was a kid, I wanted to be a sportswriter. My dad and I would have our own versions of the Sunday Superbowl in our backyard (something I have passed on to my kids) and when I was older, my dad took me to watch NFL matches. Starry eyed and full of thrill because of the sport, I would hungrily read up every bit of information I could about the matches and relate it to my friends. I could almost see it – Bryce R Thompson, sports aficionado, breezing through stadiums across the world – reporting, collaborating, carving new niches! And then the newspaper industry collapsed and I took up a job that would give my family the kind of lifestyle I think they deserved.
Now that we are more or less settled into a routine that works for us, I have started this blog as a creative outlet. I want it to be a platform where I can write about my twin passions of sports and holistic child development. I also want it to be a place where new NFL fans can read about the sports without feeling overwhelmed with too much information.
Dad stories + Sports Stats + Random Bits and Bobs = my blog. Hope you enjoy it as much I will enjoy writing it.
